The Last Day of February

Friday, February 28th we experienced a lot of special events! The Raider of the Month assembly was held at noon, which included an announcement that our class was one of the winners of the Cleanest Classroom Contest!! We will be having a pizza party with the Grade 1s, 11s, and 12s on March 10th. We also had a healthy smoothie snack (thanks to the SCC!). It was the last pajama and hat day, as well as hot chocolate and a cookie day. We were inside all day due to more cold weather, but we were comfortable and well fed!

We had a great discussion about friendships and disagreements. We also had a really good discussion about safety and situations when we need to "Stop, Think, Do." Then, we tried out a safety song and dance, followed by making our own Stop, Think, Do street lights.

Math was very fun! We watched a Pancake Manner video, which included a song "Shapes are Everywhere." Then, we tested that theory and had a shape scavenger hunt around the classroom. Shapes ARE everywhere!!

We also did a final review about the forms of energy and worked on some letter sounds. This week we are going to begin a new science unit and our third PWIM cycle! Hopefully we will also have some warmer weather so that we can enjoy outdoor playtime, too. :)

**Congratulations and thank you to our school's SRC for all of their work organizing fundraisers and representing our school/town at Telemiracle this weekend. What a wonderful cause to support! **
